Ultrasonic Plastic Tube Sealer

Plastic tubes are used in the cosmetic, consumer, medical, and food industries among others. Sealing of the tube end is required after product fill. An ultrasonic weld is an excellent method of sealing the tube end.

AMS designed a table top tube sealer to meet the needs of customers needing to quickly seal a variety of tubes in a research lab environment. The small footprint allows for easy integration in a lab setting. The adjustable anvil and tray height provide on-the-fly adjustment for sealing different height tubes. The modular actuator design also allows for integration in custom configurations or automation.

Advantages of using ultrasonic welding technology for tube sealing include:

  • The ultrasonic welding process disperses product contamination in the seal zone thereby eliminating rejects.
  • The ultrasonic weld process is fast; typically 200ms to 1s weld time.
  • No warm up stage is required. The ultrasonic equipment is exceptionally energy efficient.
  • The ultrasonic weld is virtually silent.
  • Tooling may include custom, replaceable date coding that is clearly embedded in weld zone during tube sealing.
  • High seal pressure rating comparable to tube burst pressure.

AMS tube sealers are microprocessor controlled for easy setup by operators with minimal training required. Ergonomic base design allows for easy movement of unit among different locations. Requires only 110 VAC power and compressed air.

AMS tube sealer is available for customer evaluation. Customers are encouraged to submit tubes to be sealed for free quality and strength evaluation. Please contact AMS to learn more about our ultrasonic plastic tube sealer.
